Privacy
The short version: Landfall is a public dashboard you can read without signing in, and it’s built to collect as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no cross-site ad tracking.
What we don’t collect
You don’t create an account or log in, so we don’t hold a profile on you. We don’t place advertising, we don’t use cross-site or ad-targeting trackers, we don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t build a marketing profile of your visit.
What is collected
Like any website, our hosting provider processes standard technical request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to serve pages and protect the site from abuse.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, how many people visit, which pages they read, and rough trends, so we can improve the tool. It sets a first-party analytics cookie in your browser and sends usage data to Google; your IP address is anonymized, the data isn’t used for advertising, and we don’t use it to identify you. You can opt out with your browser’s cookie controls or Google’s opt-out add-on.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how the page is actually used, so we can find and fix confusing spots. It produces aggregate heatmaps and anonymized session replays that record on-page interactions, clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. The text you read and anything you type (including into the contact form) are masked, so we don’t capture that content. Clarity sets its own cookies, and the interaction data is processed by Microsoft under its privacy terms. You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser.
When you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit. We use them only to read and reply to your message and to improve the tool, we don’t add you to any list, and we don’t sell or share them. The form is protected from spam by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly “are you human?” check that doesn’t track you across sites.
Hosting and third parties
The site is served through Cloudflare, uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for the aggregate traffic and usage measurement described above, and pulls live data from the public sources listed on the sources page. Those data-source requests are made by our servers, not your browser, so visiting Landfall doesn’t expose you to those providers. Outbound news links take you to third-party publishers, who have their own privacy practices.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here. Questions about privacy are welcome at the contact page. This page describes our practices in plain language and is not legal advice.
